Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica Sophia migrated to The United States of America as a teenager.
Ms. Chue is the Office and Business Development Manager for Process Controls Instrumentation
(PCI) LLC, an engineering company in Midtown Detroit. She owns and operates a Professional
Consulting firm, L&M LLC that provides event planning, promotion, business strategic planning and
development consulting, in addition to other services.
Sophia serves as the Executive Director of the Caribbean Community Service Center, current
Secretary for the City of Detroit Entertainment Commission (DEC), chair of the Michigan Black
Leadership Advisory Council’s (BLAC) African Diaspora Committee and former Co- Chair City of
Detroit Immigration Taskforce.
An eight-year Veteran of the United States Army Sophia currently resides in Michigan and is the
mother of two adult sons. A self-published author and poet, Sophia also provides services as Mistress
of Ceremony, host, and Speaker.
She currently resides in Michigan and is the mother of two adult sons. She is an Emcee, writer, avid dancer, poet and community advocate.
“Better Arguments: Longtimers and Newcomers in Detroit”. We launched the Better
Arguments Project to help bridge ideological divides – not by glossing over those
divides but by having better arguments.
2017/2018 Best of both worlds award show. Her organization skills and flawless execution as Mrs of Ceremony ensured the success of this African and Caribbean award show.
She always manages to infuse her words with a story that is distinctive and reflective to her Jamaican heritage. I have listened to her speak may times and my favorite presentation was when she served as the emcee for Congresswoman Rashida Tlaid’s swearing In Ceremony in 2019.
